lacie “d2” range, design by neil poulton

lacie, ’d2/big’ range, design by neil poulton.
lacie’s ongoing d2 range was first inroduced in 2001.
designed by neil poulton to be “desktop architecture”, the d2 range uses a hard-edged and slab-like design language to express the sharp efficiency of the hard drive.
– and then adds a glowing blue eye – intentionally evoking 2001 a space odyssey, hal and machine learning.
20+ years on, the d2 brand retains the now signature blue eye in an ongoing casing design which continues to refine the brand’s core language.
like buildings, d2 was designed to last.
